Welcome.

I am a painter and sculptor living in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  I  have a double major degree in Fine Arts and Art History.  I also have a Physical Education degree majoring in Kinesiology, which is the scientific study of human movement.

My artistic work is primarily figural as I  find  the human form in all its shapes and sizes to be endlessly interesting. Sculpting in clay is one of my favorite pastimes and I  transfer this three dimensional approach to my painting.  I use a heavy  impasto painting technique meaning I layer the paint onto the canvas  or board in very thick layers.  I also use a ‘wet into wet’  technique so I layer wet oil paint on top of other wet layers of paint.

All of my paintings, have a  lot of paint and are highly  textured.  I like the depth texture  brings to a painting.  These paintings both compel you to look at  it  from a distance at the same time draw you in closer.  This style is almost  like a sculpture, and often the person looking at it wants to reach out  and touch the surface.  At the same time, the heavy use of texture  also hides  elements which can only been seen when you stand back and see  the painting from six feet away.

I paint exclusively with a palette knife instead of a brush as I feel it gives the best expression of texture in the finished work.

All of my paintings are 'oil on  board' done with the highest quality oil paints and archival quality board and will last generations.  Each piece is gallery ready and comes unframed with the sides finished in complimentary colours.

Currently I am creating a large series of portraits.  I am available for commissioned paintings. If you are interested in this, simply
